Maintenance and care of Härkila hunting boots and rubber boots
Your footwear often takes a severe punishing when you’re hunting. Our boots are built to handle that, but with these easy steps, you can prolong their durability for years and years.
CARE FOR YOUR FOOTWEAR
Footwear with DWR treatment (Durable Water Repellant) needs to be replenished once in a while with our Waterproofing Fabric Care spray and simply left to dry. The spray is also suitable for suede panels on footwear. Be sure to clean the footwear first before spraying them.
For full leather boots, use our Mink Oil Leather care. Spread it evenly on the leather surface of the boots and let it dry. Please note that the use of Mink Oil will give the boots a slightly darker shade. The rubber parts of the boots should be treated with a Rubber Care spray.
For cotton clothes, follow the care label and wash them in a regular washing machine. We do not recommend tumble dry for our cotton products, because it wears out the garments.
For rubber boots, spray the whole boot with Rubber Care spray as evenly as you can and leave it to dry. This prevents the rubber from cracking over time.
